DUNKERTON was founded in 2024 by award-winning British furniture designer Aaron Dunkerton, who first conceived the Clothes Horse whilst studying Furniture Design at Kingston University, London. Originally developed as a response to the overlooked ritual of drying clothes in the home, the piece explored how thoughtful design could bring elegance and intention to an everyday object.
Upon graduating, Aaron was recognised by the Crafts Council and shortlisted for the New Designers Future Pioneer Award.
The design quickly gained attention. Aaron collaborated with clothing brand Jigsaw on a nationwide Spring/Summer window installation featuring the piece, before Wallpaper* Magazine commissioned a special iteration for their Handmade Exhibition during Milan Design Week.
Alongside DUNKERTON, Aaron works as an independent furniture designer, creating bespoke pieces and collections for interior designers, architects, brands and private clients. His wider work can be viewed at aarondunkerton.com.
His work has been recognised by publications including Dezeen, ELLE Decoration, Vogue, House & Garden, Livingetc and Wallpaper* Magazine.
